Professor Mason was able to contact someone with HAB experience and found that the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries are perfect for powering the multitude of sensors that were going to be included in the payload. The batteries are stated to work in -40°F to 140°F. Each AA battery also weighs 14.5 grams (0.032lbs) and the 9v batteries weigh 33.9 grams (0.074lbs).
Future Improvements:
Make sure the wiring from the battery packages are connected for a stable connection.
